Dear ALC community,
On behalf of Leadership, it is with very heavy hearts we are announcing that our Worship Director, Lisa Vroom has made the difficult decision to step down effective July 31. This decision has not come lightly for Lisa and in her words “after praying, screaming, crying, praying, seeking Christian counsel, screaming some more, seeking God’s word over and over, and crying so many times; I will be resigning my position the end of July.”
Lisa wants you all to know this … “Daren & I want you know that we love this church & the people God has brought into our lives through ALC. We have been here for over 20 years and we wouldn’t go back and pick a different church. The decision to step down as Worship Director is very painful for so many reasons. God has led us down a difficult path and we will follow Him faithfully. My heart is deeply saddened, because serving with the people on this AWESOME worship team and leading His people into worshiping Him has filled me with joy that bursts from my soul. I have grown in my love for the Lord and I want to continue to seek Him more.”
We know this may come as shock many of you, and you may have a lot of questions and concerns. Please know as Leadership we are processing and discussing our next steps. We welcome your patience and prayers for discernment and direction. We will communicate updates as we move forward.
Today and over the next few months, lets unite together as one church body to shower Lisa & Daren in gratitude, love & grace as they continue to faithfully and graciously serve at ALC. They have poured their hearts and sacrificed a lot for this church & would do it all again. We want to reiterate; Lisa will be continuing to be Worship Director through July 31. Again, we know you may have a lot of questions, however, now or even this week is not the time to have those types of discussions. Rather prayerfully lift up Lisa, Daren, and their family, as well as our church, as we continue to Love God, Love Others, and Serve the World.
