Faith Lessons:  What I Learned from 
Bible Stories
“Bethesda & Siloam:  The Healing
Pools of Jerusalem”  

The first pool is Bethesda.  

Bethesda means "house of grace".  

John 5:1-9  

He’s at the waters of despair and doubt.  

Faith Lesson #1

Jesus is “I know”.  

“by His wounds you have been healed.”            1 Peter 2:2  

The second pool is called Siloam.  

“he spit on the ground, made some mud with the saliva, and 
put it on the man’s eyes.  Go, he told him, wash in the Pool 
of Siloam (this word means sent).  So the man went and 
washed, and came home seeing.”                       John 9:6  

Jesus sent him on a faith journey.  

Faith Lesson #2
    Display faith.  

“And without faith it is impossible to please God, because 
anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and 
that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.” Hebrews 11:6  

Do we really believe?
